What Is Affinidi’s Global Mission?

A self-sovereign identity (SSI) allows a person, organization or machine to generate and completely control a digital identity without the need for the permission of an intermediary or a central party. It also allows control over usage and sharing of one’s personal data.

The key self-sovereign identity principles are:

Protection

Users exist independently

Fcs.Ninja’ Cooperation With Affinidi

Our partners from Affinidi came to us and asked to make a decentralized secure chat for them on Storj, for internal use. The creation of the chat became the reason for further research work, and our partners asked us to create a full-fledged decentralized network providing services for decentralized data storage, as well as computing and using nodes. Chat has thus become just a use case for this supposed network. We created a version of the chat in several programming languages, and then our customers decided to look at the existing decentralized solutions.

They were actually nodes – servers connected to a network – on which we uploaded our own code, which was quite simple, but allowed us to create some applications. We are currently testing these decentralized networks and building chat applications on them. What kind of testing are we talking about? For example, service discovery is the process of "entering" a new node into the network. That is, we have to find a network participant, tell him, “I want to become a new participant,” and this network participant using the algorithm code will notify the other participants about my presence in the network.

We have worked with Affinidi products like Trustana and Good Worker. Trustana marketplace is based on the Affinidi SDK, which we created even before Affinidi was founded as a part of our other project – Bloom Protocol. We have implemented a couple of interesting cases based on the Affinidi SDK. For example, now all the test data for COVID-19 that people take in Singapore is immediately entered into the blockchain using the Affinidi SDK.

We have also developed a dedicated Singapore Airlines dashboard that allows people to keep track of their COVID test status. In this case, SSI principles are also used.
